If you have not seen and/or heard this drumbeat then you have not been paying attention. The “lawsuit reform to create new jobs” soundbite is coming at us on a daily basis from all directions. If the justice basher’s say it enough people will start to believe it even if there are no facts to support the claim. Here is the latest email from the Chamber asking people to call their Governor and State Legislature to support tort reform. What are you doing to help counter the attacks? If every trial lawyer would tell their contacts the truth we may actually have a chance to Let America Know the truth.
I couldn’t agree more. I regularly tell everyone I know and work with how the civil justice system really works and who tort reform actually helps. Thanks for posting this and discussing it. I know it’s hard to compete with the budget of the U.S. Chamber, but if we all do our part we’ll be able to get the word out.
